FORT BELVEDERE NOW EMPTY

* MAY BECOME HOME OF DUKE OF GLOUCESTER LONDON, January 6. Fort Belvedere, the former King’s country home, now stands empty. It has been stripped of all furniture and fittings, the last'pieces of which have just been removed to Windsor Castle,, where,, with, the linen, plate, and other effects, it will be stored until it is required by the Duke of Windsor. Mrs Simpson’s furniture has also been taken from London to the castle for storage. It is believed that Fort Belvedere will ultimately become the home of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, or that it will be offered by the King to a high Crown official.
