BOY KIDNAPPED IN AMERICA
* 18,000 DOLLARS RANSOM DEMANDED (Received December 29, 12.30 a.m.) TACOMA (Washington), Dec. 28. Dr. Mattson, a prominent surgeon, has reported to the police that a masked armed man kidnapped his son Charles, aged 10, after a demand for money had been refused. A note demanding 18,000 dollars' ransom was left at Dr. Mattson's home. This is the first major kidnapping since May last year.
