CLERK FINED AND LICENSE CANCELLED

(VKESS ASSOCIATION TBLEGiIAM.) WELLINGTON, December 21. William Joseph O'Brien, aged 25, a clerk, was fined £2O by Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., on a charge of being intoxicated in charge of a car. His license was endorsed and was suspended until May 31 next year, and focal authorities were ordered to be notified. He agreed to take out a prohibition order against himself for a year, O'Brien was found asleep in a stationary car at 4 o'clock on Sunday morning. His counsel said that he had attended a dance and had liquor. He drove friends home, and, feeling the effects of fatigue end drink, decided it would be unsafe to drive to the suburb he lived.
