EXHAUSTED SWIMMER RESCUED

(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, December 14. Caught in a strong current parallel to the beach, three young men had considerable difficulty in regaining the shore at Kare Kare, on the West Coast yesterday morning. During a strenuous swim, one man tired. His companion began to assist him, while S. Odlin, a strong swimmer, of the life-saving club, swam to the exhausted man, who, on reaching the shore, collapsed. Artificial respiration was applied successfully. A large crowd applauded the rescue.
