OBITUARY

* MR ROBERT BROWN The death occurred yesterday of Mr Robert Brown, eldest son of the late Mr James Brown. He was born at Duvauchelle Bay, and educated at the West Christchurch and Sydenham Schools. He took a prominent part in the recent jubilee celebrations of the Sydenham School. In his younger days he was an active member of the Pioneer Sports Club, being interested in cycling—especially the old pennyfarthing. . , Mr Brown entered the service of J. Ballantyne and Company. Ltd., 54 years ago, and was with the firm until his retirement a few months ago. He is survived by his wife and a daughter and a son. Miss F. H. Brown and Mr R. D. Harker Brown.
