HIGH QUALITY STOCK EXHIBITED CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS (PEESS ASSOCIATION TEI.EGEAU.) INVERCARGILL, December 8. The seventieth annual show of the Southland Metropolitan Agricultural and Pastoral Association opened today. The entries were very gqod, and the quality of the stock was up to the high standard set at past shows. The following championships were awarded to-day:— Sheep Border Leicester —Ram: W. Andrew' (Maheno): reserve, McLeish Bros. (Otahuti). Ewe: A. S. Elworthy (Timaru); x-eserve, H. J. Andrew. Lincoln —Ram: T. Marshall (Oporo). Romney Marsh —Ram: D. Robertson (Waikoikoi); reserve. Peter Campbell (Wyndham), Ewe: D. Robertson; reserve, A. S. Elworthy (Timaru). Ryeland—Ram; S. and R. Evans (Longbush). Ewe: S. and R. Evans, Cattle Red Poll—Bull: F. B. Taylor; reserve, O. A. and P. Garrett. Friesian —Bull: R. K. Dodd (Charlton); reserve, R. H. Dickie (Tuturau). Cow: James Brown (Waianiwai); reserve, A. and R. May (Menzies Ferry). Ayrshire—Bull: T. S.
