YACHTING

♦ COMBINED CLASS RACE AT REDCLIFFS Twenty-two boats started in the combined class race sailed by the Christchurch Yacht Club at Red cliffs on Saturday afternoon. There was a Hood tide, and a fresh easterly. The race was sailed over the usual tripod Skylark course. The winning boat was sailed by W. Webb, who thoroughly deserved his win. The main feature of the race was that a number of boats fouled the turning marks owing to bad judgment. The results were as follows: Nimrod, 12min (W. Webb), 3hrs 59min 44sec . ■ • • • • . . 1 Fidget, IGmin (E. Morrison), 4hrs Imin 2sec . . •• ■ • .. 2 Gadfly. 17min (T. Bassett), <hrs Imm 58sec • . ■ • • ■• . . 3 Wren, IBmin IF.
