DUNEDIN WELCOMES LOVELOCK
EXHIBITION MILE RUN (PXXSS ASSOCIATION TKLXGBAU.) DUNEDIN, November 15. Mr J. E. Lovelock, who arrived in Dunedin on Saturday by car from the north on a four days’ visit to the city where he won his first championship race, received an enthusiastic welcome by a' crowd of 2000 spectators_ at a special sports meeting held in his honour on the Caledonian Ground in the afternoon. He was welcomed by the president of the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association. Mr G. L. Tapley, and was tendered a civic reception on the ground by the Mayor, the Rev. E. T. Cox. In spite of bad weather, Mr Lovelock appeared in an exhibition mile with four Dunedin athletes, and later addressed the crowd. He will remain in Dunedin until Tuesday morning. ______________
