MOTOR-CYCLIST HURT ACCIDENT DURING RECORD ATTEMPT In an attempt on the mile record at the Corsair Club’s' sports at Southbridge Domain yesterday W. Dumpleton, a well-known broadsider, of Park road. Addington, fell heavily and suffered a suspected fracture of the skull. He was admitted to the Public Hospital early last evening in a fairly serious condition.

FALL OF BHINGLE IN PIT AT MAYFIELD Struck on the back by failing shingle while working in a pit at Mvovd Fores! Un Saturday. David Henry Elms, aged J4. Mayfield, an employee of the Ashburton County Council, vvas knocked over the shovel he was using and suffered a comminuted fracture' of the left eye and abrasions on his face. He was admitted to the Ashburton Public Hospital where his condition last evening was reported to be satisfactory. MOTOR-CYCLIST INJURED IN COLLISION WITH LORRY [THE PRESS Special Service. 1 WESTPORT. November 15 As a result of a motor-lorry and motor-cycje colliding at the intersection of the Cobden and Romilly streets late on Saturday afternoon R. Dent, of Westport, the rider of the motorcycje, was admitted to the Bujler Hospital with a fractured left arm and injuries to the left leg. His condition is reported to be satisfactory. The lorry was driven bv T. B. Southern of-Innngalum Junction.
