WEDDINGS
MACBOWALIi—LOVE The marriage of Marjorie Irene Frances, second daughter of Mrs E. Love, Salisbury street, to Buddy William, only son of Mr MacDonalq. Auckland, was celebrated recently a* St John's Church, Latimer square, by the Eev. J. T. McWilliam. s The bride was escorted by Mr Ernest Cooper. She wore a frock of ivory ring velvet, made with long raglan sleeves forming points over the hands, and a trained skirt A spray of orange blossom gave a finishing touch to the neckline. A halo of'matching velvet trimmed with orange blossom, held in place her veil of cut tulle, ahd she carried a 'trailing sheaf bouquet of arum lilies. Miss Eileen Mae Love, who attended as bridesmaid, wore a blue ring velvet frock made with a slightly trained skirt, the bodice being relieved in front with a spray of silver flowers. Silver leaves composed her halo headdress and she carried a shower bouquet of spring flowers. Mr James Hughes was best man. * At the reception held later, the guests were received by the bride's mother, who wore a frock of blue satin beaute.. trimmed with braided georgette, and a hat of fawn straw. She carried flowers to tone. For travelling, the bride wore a brown tunic suit, a dark musquash fur coat, and a brown straw hat. Mr and Mrs B. W. Mac Donald will live in Auckland.
BETTS—TEMPLETON
At St. Stephen’s Church, Ashbiirton, the wedding was celebrated by Archdeacon A. J. Petrie, of Dorothea Ada, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Templeton, to Vernon Charles Betts, elder son of Mr and Mrs C. E. Betts, Kaponga, Taranaki, a well-known cricketer and hockey player; Mr J. C. Thompson was organist. Mr Templeton escorted his daughter, who wore a trained frock of cream angel-skih lace and georgette, cowled at the neckline, and shirred on the shoulders. The georgette sleeves puffed the elbow, arid had tight-fitting cuffs of lace. Her veil’. of ivory tulle, embroidered with lovers* knots, was held in position with a wreath of orange blossom, and her bouquet was of arum lilies and freesias. The bridesmaid, Miss Flora Templeton, wore a blUe crepe de chine frock with draped neckline. Her hat was of dusky pink, with blue trimming, and she carried a bouquet otf spring flowers and cream lilies. Little Joan Templeton, niece of the bride, wore an apricot- crepe de chine frock, and Carried a posy of primroses. Mr R. Templeton, was best man. After the .ceremony, Mr and Mrs Templeton entertained their guests at Lewitt’s reception rooms, Oak grove. The bride’s mother wore a navy blue silk crepe marocain ensemble and hat to tone. When Mr and Mrs V. C. Betts left on their wedding tour, the bride was wearing a blue-grey tailored worsted costume, and hat to match. They will make their home In Kaponga.
