MEMORIAL TO FORMER PARTY LEADER

♦ MINISTER INSPECTS AUCKLAND SCULPTOR’S WORK CPB.ES3 ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) ... AUCKLAND. August 16. When in Auckland to-day the Minister for Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, paid a visit to the studio of Mr K. O. Gross, the Auckland sculptor, who is engaged on sculptural work for the memorial to Mr H. E. Holland, former leader of the Parliamentary Labour party. “It is a very inspiring conception on which Mr Gross is working,” commented Mr Nash. “The sculpture depicts the climb of a human life through the ages and man’s relation to industry. It is now well in hand and is a very striking addition to the memorial.”
