THE KING’S HOLIDAY

FISHERMEN’S CHALLENGE TO

RACE

BELGRADE, August, 12

King Edward, in the yacht Nahlin, visited the island of Rab, where he was warmly welcomed. He purchased a local headdress, took several photographs, and visited a fete at night. When the Nahlin was cruising in Novigrad Bay she was accompanied by 40 fishing boats, the crews of which shouted greetings and challenged the King, who was on the bridge, to a race. The King took snapshots of the picturesque scene, and when the Nahlin anchored he chatted with some of the fishermen, who, having lived in the United States, spoke English.
