OLD STUDENTS’ ANNUAL REUNION SERVICES OP PROFESSOR R. E. ALEXANDER Eulogistic reference to the valuable services rendered to the college by Professor R. E. Alexander was made at the annual reunion and dinner of the Canterbury Agricultural College Old Students’ Association held last evening. During the evening the chairman, Mr G. W. R. Osborne, presented Professor Alexander with a chiming dock as a token of the very high regard in which he was held by old students of the college. Opportunity was also taken to welcome the new director. Mr E. R. Hudson, an old boy of the college. . The toast list was as follows: The King,” proposed by the chairman; “Fallen Comrades,” proposed by the chairman; “The College.” proposed by Mr J. G. L. Vernon, responded to by Mr M. J. Scott; "Professor R. E. Alexander,” proposed by the chairman, re--sponded to by Professor Alexander; “The Director-elect” (Mr E. R. Hudson), proposed by Mr L. B. Scott, responded to by Mr Hudson; "The Staff.” proposed by Mr L. B. Scott, responded to by Mr J. W. Calder; “The Students,” proposed by Mr L. W. McCaskill, responded to bv a student representative; “The Board of Governors,” proposed by Mr B. Seth Smith, responded to by Mr W. O. Rennie; “Kindred Associations,” proposed by Mr E. A. Fougere, responded.to by a Massey College representative, R. J. Clayton, and Mr A. E. Flower (Canterbury University College). After the dinner the annual meeting of the association was held. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr G. W. R. Osborne; vicepresident, Mr L, B. Scott; secretary, Mr I. D. Blair; treasurer, Mr R, A. Fougere; committee, Messrs W. O. Rennie, J. W. Calder, C. C. Reltch, A. C. Wright. B. Seth Smith, A. H. Flay, and B. G. Dalgety. Items were supplied by Messrs J. Lockhart, hj. McGill, W. Toomey, and Dixon.
