SHIPPING NOTES The Holmdale is to load here to-day for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The burrey is due here to-day from Wellington to continue discharge of her Glasgow and Liverpool cargo. The Waikouaiti is now to arrive here to-morrow from Timaru. After discharging general cargo and coal .from Sydney and Newcastle she will load for Sydney and is to sail about Friday, via Bluff. The Breeze is expected here to-morrow from the south to take in cargo for Wellington and Wanganui. The Waimarino is due here to-morrow from Auckland, via Wellington and Picton, and is to sail in the afternoon for Dunedin and Bluff. The Karu is to load at Lyttelton on Thursday for Nelson and New Plymouth. The Waitaki is due here on August 19 from Melbourne, via Bluff and Dunedin. She is to sail the same day for Wellington, Bluff, and Melbourne, The Karetu is due at Lyttelton on August 22 from Newcastle, Sydney, and Port Kembla, via Bluff, Dunedin, and Timaru. She is to sail later for Sydney, via Oamaru. ESKDALEGATE LATER The Eskdalegate, with phosphates from Nauru for Lyttelton and Dunedin, was delayed at the island and is now due here on Sunday next, PIRI TO RECOMMISSION After having been used as a lighter and storeship for explosives at Auckland since March. 1930, the Nobel Company’s schooner Piri is to be recommissioned. She will have a new 250 horse-power full Diesel engine installed, and her topsail schooner rig will be converted to fore and aft rig with two pole masts. She is expected to be ready for sea toward the end of the year, and afterward she will be used in the intercolonial cargo trade in conjunction with the company’s schooner Huia.
