MATCH AT GREYMOUTH WESTPORT BEATEN BY HOME TEAM A visiting team of Westport golfers was beaten by a Greymouth team at the Kaiata links on Sunday by one game. The weather was not good, but some good scores were returned. The following were the results, Greymouth players being mentioned first:— Singles—Morning round: Meldrum beat Hogg, Hill and Phipps all square, Caulton heat Wilson, McSorily lost to Lockey, Johnston beat Walker, Boustridge beat Harding, Thurlow lost to Campbell, M. McKechnie lost to Jones, McKeefry lost to A. Nottle, H. Howes beat R. Nottle, Simmonds lost to Jackson, Hay beat Wright, Warnes beat Owles, McCallum lost to Fountaine, Wybber lost to Whitehead, Hutchinson lost to Robertson, Fogarty beat Smith, Ferguson beat Buchanan, Newton beat Twohill, Richmond and Newman %11 square. Grey finished two games up. The afternoon bogey four-ball, best ball matches resulted:—Ray and Hill lost to Hogg and Phipps, Caulton and McSorily beat Lockey and Wilson, Johnston and Boustridge beat Harding and Campbell, Thurlow arid McKechnie lost to Jones and Walker, Howes and McKechnie all square with Whitehead and R. Nottle, Simmonds and Hay lost to Jackson and Wright, Warnes and McCallum all square with A. Nottle. and Fountaine, Hutchinson and Fogarty all square with Robertson and Owles, Wybber and Ferguson beat Smith and Buchanan, Newton and Richmond lost to Newman and Twohill.
