Next year’s construction programme of the London, Midland, and Scottish Railway Company, involving an expenditure of £3,250,000, will bring big orders to many British industries. The programme provides for 105 locomotives, including several of the Princess Royal type, the most powex-fui engines on the system, 210 locomotive boilers, 751 carriages, and 12,105 waggons. Including the present programme, the company will have spent £66,000,000 on roiling stock in the 13 years since Its formation. •
