CYCLIST KILLED [THE PRESS Special Service.] TEMUKA, August 9. John Bate, an elderly man, living hear Temuka, was killed instantly about 7 p.m. to-day, While cycling on the Main South road about two miles north of Temuka. He received terrible head injuries, of which he died before any medical assistance could be given by Dr. F. Scanned, of Temuka, Who Was called immediately. Bate was cycling towards Temuka to attend an evening church service.
STABLE BOY KICKED BY HORSE

GREYMOUTH, August 9.
Injuries to the face were received by William Cunningham, a stable boy aged 18 years, employed at Frost’s Stables, victoria Park, Greymouth, When he was kicked by, a hofse on Saturday morning. He was admitted to the Greymouth Hospital. His condition on Saturday night was said to be satisfactory. MAORI CHILD DROWNED (rakss association tklegeam.) GISBORNE, August 8. A Maori child, May Tuihana McGuire, the three-year-old daughter of William McGuire, was drowned in a Well at Makaraka yesterday. The child, Who had been staying with Mrs T. Halbert, wandered away, and when U search was made the body was discovered In the well. YOUNG BOY KILLED (MNSS ASSOCIATION TALdGXAU.; AUCKLAND, August 9. Fatal injuries were received by a five-year-old boy, Brian Kennedy, when he was run over by a motorpus in Point Chevalier road on Saturfay afternoon. He was a son of Mr , Kennedy, of Point Chevalier.
