WORK AT ADDIS ABABA
BRITISH OFFICER PROMOTED
(BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.) RUGBY, July 3. The brevet promotion to the rank of lieutenant-colonel of Major Charter, Officer Commanding the British Legation guard at Addis Ababa, is announced. The award is in recognition of the admirable way in which he performed his difficult duties, particularly during the period before the arrival of the Italians, when the town was in the hands of the mob, and the guard evacuated to safety the personnel of several other legations at Addis Ababa,
