truss Assooanoa tiuoiui.) i WELLINGTON. June 9. The varied interests of the late Mr C. H. Treadwell, and the personal mark he left upon them, were reflected in tributes paid to his memory in the Supreme Court by bench and bar.
The Attorney-General, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, said it was agreed by all that to Mr Treadwell more than to any other individual was attributable the present strong and prosperous condition of the New Zealand law reports. Of all matters that interested the profession that was nearest his heart, and appropriately that was the last work bn which he was engaged. The Acting-Chief Justice, the Hop. J. R. Reed, referring to the long add honourable career of Mr Treadwell, said he did not hesitate to devote a considerable part of his scant leisure to further the interests of the profession.
Other tributes were paid by Mr G. G. Watson, for the New Zealand Law Society, and Mr Parry, president of the Wellington District Law Society.
