D. K. RICHMOND ART EXHIBITION
FLOWER PAINTINGS BY NEW ZEALAND ARTIST
To-day is the last day On -Which Christchurch people will have an opportunity of seeing what is described as one of the finest collections of flower and still-life paintings ever shown in New Zealand. This is the memorial exhibition of the work of the late Miss D. K. Richmond, arranged by the Canterbury Society of Arts at the Durham Street Art Gallery. Miss Richmond studied abroad both in England and France, and while in France she was closely associated with Frances Hodgkins, another of New Zealand's most distinguished painters. Her work is said to show the influence of the Newlyn School, where she studied under Norman Gaston. The society of arts announces thkt the exhibition closes to-day, and that there will probably not be another opportunity of seeing a collection of Miss Richmond’s work. There is no charge for admission.
