SOCIAL AND PERSONAL Mrs H. Hay “Cadogan,” Sefton street, left on Sunday to stay with her daughter, Mrs Bruce Murray (Godley Peaks, Mackenzie Country). Miss Mary McGrath (Wellington) is the guest of Mrs R. L. Wigley (Highfield). Miss Jeannette Fitch, who was the guest of Mrs R. L. Wigley, has returned to Christchurch, accompanied by Miss Margaret Wigley. Mr and Mrs J. T. Hansen left yesterday for Wellington, en route to Melbourne, where they will take up residence. The Misses A. and N. Wheeler (Gisborne) are staying with their sister, Mrs O’Callaghan, Nile street. Miss F. Ziesler, Elizabeth street, has returned from a visit to Mrs W. Raymond (Moeraki).

Miss Mary Stone and Miss Mary Hole, who are to be married next month, were entertained by Miss Lucy Mackay at her home in Wai-iti road, where games and competitions were Elayed. A competition was won by fiss Constance Grant. Those present were Mrs Sholto Black, Mrs Geoffrey Jnnes-Jones, Misses Mary and Brenda Hole, Mary Stone, Peggy Killick, Grace Mackay, Scota Steward, Valmai Morgan. Sue Torlesse, Ailsa Campbell, Christine Pringle, Muriel Kelland, Dorothy Walton, Constance Grant, Marjorie Heasley, Marjorie Tait, Margaret Kerr, Ruth Gee, June Kerr, Janet Murchison, Greta Cameron, Helen Fox, Mary Bridges, Edith and Lucy Huddleston, Helen Scott, Sheila Vincent, Patience Pearson. Eileen Bryce (Fairlie), Margaret Webster, and Helen Staveley (Auckland). SQUADRON DANCE An enjoyable evening was spent, when “V” squadron, Legion of Frontiersmen held a dance in the Veterans' Hall, Oxford terrace. An exhibition of tap dancing given by the pupils of Miss Mollie williams was very much appreciated, and Captain Kilner presented each of the children with „a small gift on behalf of the legion.
