LORRY RUNS BACK INTO WINDOW
CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE DONE
(paiss assochtioh t«.xchuk.) AUCKLAND, May 5. When a lorry was parked opposite Scots Hall in Symonds street this 'morning the brakes apparently slipped and the vehicle, which was unattended, ran backwards in a wide arc across the street.
The lorry crashed with terrific- force into a window of the Auckland Bible House. Glass was shattered anil books were strewn over the pavement. One wall was shifted several feet out of plumb. The lorry, which just missed a tramcar, was scarcely damaged. It is owned by Crystal Aerated Waters, Ltd.
