NEW PLYMOUTH, May 5.

A man, three horses, and a bull were attacked by a large Tamworth boar, on a farm near New Plymouth at the week-end.

William Bird, aged 72 years, suffered a severe gash in the leg that required hospital attention. Two horses were seriously injured, one by a gash in the stomach. The bull was gashed across the hind-quar-ters.

Mr Bird was in grave danger when the boar upset him, and he was rescued by two companions. The boar was finally killed, but only after nine shots had been used.
