SHORTHORN ASSOCIATION
CANTERBURY BRANCH MEETS The general excellence of the exhibit of Milking Shorthorns at the last metropolitan show of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association probably exceeded that of any previous year, said the president (Mr Gordon Jones) at a meeting yesterday of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Milking Shorthorn Association. He thanked members for their support of the section. There were also present at the meeting: Messrs F. G. Herridge, L. Bowis, G. Harris. G. G. Goodwin, A. W. Hurford, R. Peach, S. Smith, C. Bowis, H. Dickhoff, and W. C. Prosser (secretary). The secretary reported having replied to the request of the Mackenzie County Agricultural and Pastoral Association for the allocation of prizo money to the Shorthorn classes at its show, that the prize money for the season had already been allotted, but that in the future the claims of the Mackenzie Association would receive due consideration.
The meeting decided to write a letter of sympathy in his illness to Mr James Peach and to wish him a speedy recovery.
