SHIPPING NOTES The Waiplata is due here to-day from Dunedin and Timaru, and is to sail for Wellington and Auckland. The Wingatui is .now expected here on Saturday from Auckland direct. She will sail for Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru. On her return sho will sail for Wellington and Auckland. The Karu is now due at Lyttelton on Monday from Dunedin, Oamaru, and Timaru to discharge, and is to sail for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. The Port Whangarei is due here from Timaru on Saturday, and is to sail the same day for Wellington, Tauranga.j Auckland, and Whangarei. The Foxton arrived last evening from Picton. PORT BOWEN AT LONDON Cabled advice has been received that the Port Line steamer Port Bowen reached London last Saturday. She left Port ChalmerH on March 1 for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, Manchester, and Glasgow, via Cape Horn. THE CAPE HORN The Union Company's chartered motorship Cape Horn is to,leave San Jfrancisco on April 22 and Los Angeles on April 24 for the Cook Islands, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Australia. She is due at Auckland on May 20. COPTIC REPORTS In ballast from London, the Shaw, Savill motor-ship Coptic has reported by wireless that she expected to reach Napier at 1 p.m. on Tuesday to commence her Homeward loading. She will later compete at Auckland. Opua, Wellington, and port Chalmers. The vessel is due at Wellington on April 27. and is to clear Port Chalmers finally on May 5 for Hook of Holland and London, via Cape Horn. FINNtSH SHIPPING EARNINGS The gross earnings of the Finnish merchant fleet during the last year totalled 707.000,000 Fmks., compared with 586,000,00 Fmks. in the preceding 12 months. This advance of over 20 per cent, is mainly attributable to an increase of 44,000. tons in the aggregate of the fleet.
