ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Cambrian Society of Canterbury was held on Saturday evening. In the absence of) the president (Mr C. E. Jones) Mr J. j G. Parry presided over a good attend-1 ance. | The annual report, which reviewed the activities of the society during the year, showed that, the year had been most successful. Fourteen new members had joined the society during the year, making 70 financial members. Mrs Hamber was elected a life member of the society, comment being made on her long and faithful service, the balance-sheet, which was adopted, showed a distinct improvement for the year. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr J. G. Parry; vice-presi-dents, Mrs Pollard, Mr T. Williams, Mr D. Gann, Mr J. James, Mr C- E. Jones, Mr A. M. Owen; honorary secretary, Mrs G. M. Herriott (re-elected); honorary treasurer, Mr E. R. Caygill (re-elected); committee, Mesdames R. H. Williams, E. R. Caygill, W. Wood, and J. James, Messrs R. H. Williams, W. Wood, J. D. Wass, and J. Hetherington; trustees, Messrs E. R. Caygill and J. G. Parry; honorary auditor, Mr A. M. Owen; sick visitors, Mrs Worsdale and Mr J. Evans. The retiring members of the committee, Mr and Mrs E. R.
