NEW BRIGHTON LADIES’ CLUB

SEASON DECLARED OPEN

To mark the opening of Its season, the New Brighton Ladles’ Miniature Rifle Club held an enjoyable social in the range hall. The club captain, Mrs H. A. Bishop, welcomed the Mayoress of New Brighton (Mrs’ E. L. Smith), and several new members. She said that the club* which

had been formed in 1914, was the oldest women’s miniature rifle club in- Canterbury. The Mayoress fired the first shot, and in declaring the season open wished the club success. The new members also fired shots. The evening was spent in playing games

and competitions. The winners of competitions were Mesdames L. Duncan, if. McClelland, E. Caldwell, and F. Harper. Supper was served by Mesdames H. A. Bishop, A. H. Bagg, and M. Mose*.
