THE QUEEN MARY AT SOUTHAMPTON

LONDON, March 1 27

There was intense enthusiasm among spectators on the arrival of the liner Queen Mary at Southampton. When the vessel was entering the King George dock the wind once threatened to carry her starhoard side against the dock wall, but by most skilful manoeuvring Lugs brought the immense ship to perfect rest. The Queen Mary was ahead of her lime when she steamed into Cowes road, Isle of Wight, at about 6,30 this morning. As her arrival almost coincided with low water she anchored some two miles off . the Esplanade. Shortly before 8 a.m. the Bremen, inward bound for Southampton, passed the Queen Mary as she lay at anchor. The Queen Mary received p salute from many aeroplanes throughout the morning.
