MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING
GAS COMPANY’S CLUB
The annual meeting of the Christchurch Gas Company’s Miniature Rifle Club was held in the club rooms, with Mr C. Allen presiding. The annual report said that a team was entered in the winter competition of the Christchurch Miniature Rifle Association Of 18 matches fired, 12 were won. five lost, and one drawn. The club was third in the competition. As this is tne first team to be entered in the competition by the club, the results are very gratifying. Club competitions were keenly contested. , , ~ The prizes were presented as follows. — Frank E. Graham Challenge Cup for the champion shot, W. Turner; Hurley Departmental Cup, Work’s team (J. Gale captain); Pearson’s trophy for the most Improved shot in the club, G. Shaw; C. Allen’s rose bowl for the member registering the highest aggregate in the second round of the competition, W. Mitchell, Peddar's trophy for the first member to register a possible, K. McVinnie: Tlsdall’s trophy for the most consistent member at practice, F. Williams. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr F. E. Graham; president, Mr F. W. J. Belton; vice-presidents, Messrs F Ball. R. F. Gallon, G. Irvine, W. E. Rogers, and J. Sutcliffe; club captain, Mr C. G. W. Mason; vice-captain, Mr K. McVinnie: hon. secretary, Mr G. Lester; hon. treasurer. Mr F. Graham; committee, Messrs W. Bowles, J. Wing. F. Williams, D. Bates, W. Mitchell, and J. Gale; auditor, Mr F. Wing; delegate to association, Mr C. G. W. Mason.
