NIGHT SCHOOLS
TO THE KDITOB OT THE PEESS. Sir, —It is-,-about time that some people liegan to realise the probable physical damage being done to their sons and daughters through attending night schools two or three times each week. I allude more particularly to those who, having failed to pass their matriculation examination, have obtained employment in an office or factory, and after working there all day go on to night school, swatting till well after normal bed-time. In many cases the remaining nights of the week are spent at'dances, parties, or pictures. The result is they are seldom home in the evenings, and "are not getting proper rest and sleep, so necessary at this important period in their development and growth. It would be much better if their parents had left them at school another year, giving them a further opportunity of obtaining their" matriculation, and at the same time relieving the labour market. —Yours, etc., ~ , DAD.
