Gift pupils of the Christchurch Technical College held their annual picnic at Corsair Bay yesterday. The party numbered 600, and the day was spent in swimming and games. The Prebbleton School picnic was held at Corsair Bay yesterday in fine weather., There was an attendance of about 180. Personal The Mayor (Mr F. E. Sutton) returned yesterday after attending the annual conference of the Municipal Association of New Zealand at . Napier. Mrs J. F. Cain, Winchester street, is spending a holiday with her daughter, Mrs A. G. Parker, Waikari. , The Rev. A. H. Fowles. who has been in charge of the Lyttelton Methodist Church for the last four years, will leave Lyttelton at the end of this month, and will, under medical advice, go upon superannuation for 12 months. Mr Fowles will live in Christchurch, and will be attached to the Christchurch East circuit'as supernumerary. The Rev. W. J. Enticott, of Ohoka, has been appointed to Lyttelton, and will take up his duties here in April. Fishermen’s Sailing Race As a result of challenges between members of the crew of the steamtrawler Phyllis, a sailing race was held yesterday in Idle Along class boats. The course was the usual sailing course, once round, and the race was started by Mr C. E. Brown, commodore of the Canterbury Yacht and Motor-Boat Club. The result was:— Listless (W. Willman, sen., and W. Tissiman) .. ~ .. 1 Ngahau (W. Willman, jun., and J. Tissiman) ~ ~2 Patua (S. Burns and A. Currie) .. 3 Lolita (ti. Scott ahd J. Murray) .. 4 Won by three minutes and a half, with five minutes between second and third, and two minutes and a half between third and fourth.
