BOYS EXCLUDED FROM TEPID BATHS
* punishment for theft Two boys who appeared in the Children’s Court on Saturday on charges of theft will not be allowed to go to the Tepid Baths again for at least 12 months. Each of them, one aged 17 and the other 15, pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing money from - other people’s clothing at the baths. The younger boy, for whom Mr P. rL’ “ m °deo appeared, admitted the theft of 2s 6d. Chief-Detective W. H. Dunlop explained that the money had been taken from some clothing while the owner was swimming. When the boy was accused of stealing the money he frankly admitted it, although he denied responsibility for any of the several other thefts which had lately occurred at the baths. clothing at the baths. Chief-Detective Dunlop said that the boy had been accosted by an attendant and admitted the offence. The accused in this case was placed under the supervision of the Child Welfare Officer for 12 months and prohibited from attending the Tepid Baths during that time. The charges were heard by Mr F. F Reid S.M., Mrs T. Green, J.P.. and Mr yf. M. .West JP. .
