FARMERS’ TOUR OF GREAT BRITAIN
OTAGO AND CANTERBURY TRAVELLERS Several Canterbury and Otago farmers have already signified their intention of going on the New Zealand farmers* tour to Great Britain and Europe,. Which is being organised by Messrs Thomas Cook and Son. Last year there were 79 in the party, but it is not anticipated that the number will be as large this year. : ;
The itinerary of the tour has been arranged with the co-operation of British farmers’ associations and kindred organisations, and .the main ob-
jects of the tour will be to acquire useful information on farming and breeding practice in the homes of the various breeds of animals bn which the prosperity of New. Zealand depends, to investigate and discuss the results achieved at the varitaw reseat stations .and to learn the Requirements of those attending to the marketing of the farmer’s produce, so as to secure the maximum return to the farmer. The tour will also afford fanners an opportunity to observe closely *' the methods;of the European suppliers to the British market. . i , / : The itinerary provides for the members of the tour to leave Sydney by the Strathaird on April 18, and etobhg the places which will hq/qfsltea?” are Colombo, Port Said, Paris, Lucerne, Venice* Bgplq,'., and many agricultural and dairying districts in Britain.
