NEED FOR TRAINING SCHOOL
* —— . . VETERINARY SURGEONS DECISION OF UNIVERSITY SENATE (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, January 18. The desirability of having in the Dominion an establishment for the training of veterinary surgeons was the subject of a motion passed at a meeting of the University Senate this' morning. A motion proposed by Mr L. J. Wild was: “That the Professorial Boards of the Canterbury Agricultural College and the Massey College be requested to report to ’the Senate on the need for the training of veterinary surgeons in the Dominion and on the estimated cost of the establishment and’mainten-
ance of a school of veterinary science in association with their respective colleges." .Speaking to his motion. Mr Wild said that there was no provision in New Zealand for young men wishing to qualify as veterinary surgeons, and they had to face the expense of education overseas.
