ENJOYABLE RECITAL

PUPILS OF MISS E. A. PREBBLI The result of much preparation and careful training was shown by the pupils of Miss E. A. Prebble, teacher of pianoforte, elocution, and singing, when they gave their annual recital in the rooms of the Canterbury Automobile. Association. Beside being a proof of the work of the pupils, the programme provided an enjoyable evening's entertainment The performance of the children was of a high standard and the varied programme contained piano soles, recitations, duets, vocal items, and eoe picturesque little play.

Miss Prebble, in an address to the audience, thanked all those who bad attended, particularly those who bats! helped in the arrangements for the concert. She emphasised the great benefit the pupils obtained from rehearsing for such a concert, and urged the parents to help by keeping their children working hard. Miss Zena Johnson and pupils; recitation, "Down by the Pond," Master David Woods;" piano duet, "Remembrance," Misses Eilah Fraser and Joan Downie; vocal solo, "My Crinoline," Miss Coleen Nicholas; piano solo, "Minuet irt G," Mr flay Challis; play, "King John and the Abbot," elocution pupils;" piano duet, "Queen of the Pixies." Misses Patricia Cottie and Betty Beken; recitation, "Guilty or Not Guilty," Mi-a Patricia Woods; piano solo, "Berceuse,"' Miss Zena Johnson; chorus, "Jingle Bells," pupils; piano solo."Vaise Des Fleurs," Miss Noeline Jarvis; recitation, "The Sluggard," Master Morley Midgley; vocal solo, "The Pirate," Master Peter Woods; piano duet.
