RESIGNATION OF MR FORBES
NEW LABOUR CABINET MINISTERS TO BE SWORN-IN TO-MORROW (PRBSS ASSOCIATION XBLEOaiM,) WELLINGTON, December 4. The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) waited upon the Gov-ernor-General (Lord Galway) at Government House this afternoon and tendered the resignation of himself and the members of the Government. His Excellency accepted the resignation, and, on the advice of Mr Forbes, will send for Mr M. J. Savage, leader of the Labour party, and invite him to form a Ministry. Mr Sdvage, of course, will accept the invitation when he waits on his Excellency at 11 o'clock to-morrow morning, and at 11 o'clock on Friday morning he and the members of the first Labour administration will attend Government House to take the oaths of office. LICENSING POLL RICCARTON FINAL FIGURES The ofPcial count for the licensing poll in the Riccarton electorate increased the vote for continuance by 592, and thp vote for prohibition by 362. In all. 174 votes were rejected ns informal. The returning officer (Mr Albert Freeman) said that 92.8 oer cent, of the electors had voted.
