FLOWER SHOW
GOOD DISPLAY AT SYDENHAM BLOOMS OP HIGH STANDARD The people of Sydenham have earned a reputation for the way In which they support their churches, and the attendance on Saturday at the annual flower show of St. David's Presbyterian Church, and the enthusiasm df both exhibitors and organisers, was no exception to the rule. The exhibits were all of a hi#h standard, and the flowers especially, although the entry was not as large as the previous year's, were particularly good, considering the unfavourable weather of the last few weeks. - The show was officially opened In the afternoon by the minister, the Rev Lawrence M. Rogers, who spoke of the nlgn Quality of the exhibits, and complimented ?he exhibitors, especially in the flower section, on the standard of ttoMtete.. There were many stalls, and good Business was done throughout the afternoon given by Mr E. H. H Gardiner (Purau) for the Premier rose in the show was awarded to Miss R. L. Foster for her bloom, "Shot Silk." and the A. L. Gourley Memorial Cup for most points in the flower section was won by Mr H. The list of awards was as follows: FLOWERS.
