Tennis Sub-Association A meeting of the Mid-Canterbury Lawn Tennis Sub-Association was held on Wednesday evening, with Mr S. P. Taylor presiding. The match committee recommended that the association engrave the junior shield with the names of each winner each season, and that when all the miniature plates on the shield are engraved they be handed to the respective winning clubs and replaced on the shield by the association. The recommendation was adopted, and it was decided that the record of matches since the beginning of the junior competition should be completed. The following officials for the handicap tournament to be conducted on December 7 and 14 were appointed:— Referee, Mr N. L. F. Wood; handicap and draw committee, Messrs E. Bryant, J. Partridge, D. A. The Methven Club also considered that some of the junior vimpiring last year was not altogether satisfactory, and some complications had inadvertently arisen.
