M.C.C. TOUR VISIT TO DOMINION ARRIVAL DELAYED FOR A WEEK A readjustment of the itinerary for the Australian tour of _the M.C.C. team which is to visit New Zealand will cause the arrival of the side a week later than was anticipated. The team was scheduled to arrive in Wellington on December 9, but arrangements have been made for it to play an* extra match in Sydney against a combined Australian side, and this will delay the arrival of the team until about December 16". Information as to the effect this will have on the itinerary of the team in the Dominion will be received by the council of the New Zealand Cricket Association within a day or so. The original arrangements provided for the playing of five matches in Australia against state teams, but soon after the arrival of the team at Perth the suggestion was made that it should meet an Australian side. The visitors' captain, E. R. T. Plolmes, agreed to this, provided the consent of the New Zealand Council could be obtained. Mr Tom Holmes, who represents the Dominion Council in Australia, communicated with New Zealand, and received the council's consent to the proposal. Plans have now been completed for this additional match. The Marylebone Cricket Chib team is scheduled to play 19 matches in New Zealand, but the new arrangement may reduce this number slightly.
