RELIGIOUS WAR ON POVERTY
SOCIAL CREDIT PLANS CLERGYMAN DESCRIBES N.Z. AS A LEADER (Received September 16, 11.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, September 15. The Dean of Canterbury, who arrived to-day, said the Social Credit movement was beginning a tremendous religious war against poverty, with Canada and New Zealand running a close race to be first to adopt a programme. Other countrieswould tumble over each other to join in when they saw it was a success. If it was a failure in Alberta it would be only a set-back m a world-wide programme, which should interest the churches, because it promised to curb nationalism, which fomented war. He plans to make a seven weeks' tour of Canada.
