RUSBATCH—JENKINS

The wedding was celebrated recently at St. John's Anglican Church. Hororata, of Margaret Elizabeth,.youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs T. Jenkins, "Glendore," Hororata, to Roland. Hill, second son of Mr. and Mrs J. Rusbatch, of Hawkins. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. L." N. Watkins, and Mrs Smith (Dunedin), the bride's aunt, was the organist. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a cream lace frock mounted on satin, made with long fitting sleeves and around neckline softened with shirring. A panel inset in the back of the skirt widened into a train, and over it fell the deep folds of her long embroidered silk net veil, which was arranged in cap style and held to the head with clusters of orange blossom. She carried a trailing bouquet of hothouse flowers. She was attended by her two cousins, Miss Alicia Handle (Christchurch), who wore a pink • lace frock and a head-dress of silver leaves, and Miss Irene Smith (Dunedin), whose frock of blue taffeta was trimmed; with net frilling. Her head-dress was composed of pink and blue rosebuds, and both attendants carried bouquets of pink flowers.' The little flower girl, Miss Janet Smith (Coalgate), wore a pale green crepe de chine frock,'and carried a posy of pale lemon primroses.

Mr R. Rusbatch attended his brother i as best man, and Mr J. Jenkins, the bride's brother, was -groomsman. At a reception held at the Masonic Hall, Coalgate, the guests were received by the bride's mother, who was wearing a frock of navy floral crepe de chine and a hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of lemon shaded flowers. Mrs J. Rusbatch wore a navy crepe de chine frock relieved with red and a hat to match. Her flowers were red anemones. The bride travelled in a brown tailored suit with a fawn and brown hat to tone, and a fur necklet, the gift of the bridegroom. She carried a fur ,coat. A dance was'held in the evening.

THEATRICAL WEDDING IN SYDNEY

Extraordinary interest was.taken today in the wedding of Cyril Ritchard and Madge Elliott at St. Mary's Basilica, and a huge crowd of women and girls waited outside the Cathedral for a glimpse of the popular theatrical stars, who were wildly cheered. Fifty policemen had the unenviablq task of keeping the people back and preventing the disorganisation of city traffic. Only a privileged group saw the actual marriage ceremony. These included prominent society people and close theatrical friends. Mr Gregory Ritchard, a brother of the bridegroom, was best man, Mr Harry Wotton, of Adelaide, groomsman, Miss Winnie Tait, of Sydney, was the bridesmaid, and Mrs lan Sargood,. of Melbourne, was matron of honour. Four small attendants, nieces of the bride, completed the bridal retinue. Blue was predominant in the colour scheme at the wedding. Mr and Mrs Ritchard will spend their honeymoon in New Zealand. They will sail by the Monterey on September 18.

COMING-OF-AGE PARTY Mr and Mrs J. Feather entertained a number of friends at their home, on the occasion of the twenty-first birthday of their daughter, Myrtle, The evening was spent in cards, dancing, and competitions. The winners of the cards were: Mrs L. O. Pachnatz, Mrs McLauchlan, Mr Leslie Grant, and Mr Thomas Reid. Competitions were won by Miss Joyce Amyes, Messrs W. Pachnatz, and R. Elliott. A "statu,e dance" was won by Miss Ella Feather and Mr W. Pachnatz. Music for the dancing was supplied by Messrs R. Elliott, P. Pachnatz, and W. Killick, and songs were sung by Messrs E. C. Ducat, F. Gilmore, and W. Killick. Among those present were Mr and Mrs J. Feather, Mr and Mrs L. Pachnatz, Mr and Mrs E. C. Ducat. Mr and Mrs Keep, Mrs McLauchlan, Misses Myrtle Feather, Joyce Amyes, Thelma Feather, Sylvia Pachnatz, Vera Feather, Ella Feather, Enid Pachnatz, Gladys Feather, Messrs G. Johnson, F. Gilmore, P. Pachnatz, R. Elliott, W. Killick, W. Pachnatz, Leslie Grant, and Thomas Reid.
