CALEDONIAN SOCIETY'S COMPETITIONS
CHAMPIONSHIPS DECIDED The Canterbury Caledonian Societyv annual competitions were concluded last evening at the Caledonian Hall. The senior and junior championships, which are won on the highest aggregate points gained in the open classes of the Highland Fling, the Seann Triubhais, the Highland Reel, and the swords, were decided. The judge for the dancing was Mrs L. H. Petrie. and for the piping Mr J. Shanahan. Results last night were:— Highland Fling, boys (five entries')— Melville Sturrock 1, Donald Cameron Highland Fling, open to all children in the society under 14, not eligible for the, 1935 class Us) Elaine Barnett 1. Irene Rees 2, Grade Cameron 3. Piping, marches, strathspeys,, and reels (8)-M. J. Walton 1, A. Yorston 2, R.
