Mrs Andrew and Miss Kathleen McCaw (Wellington) arrived yesterday to stay with Mrs G. A. Bridges (Selwyn street) for the AndrewBridges wedding. _, _ _ "The Readers," including Mrs F. F. A. Ulrich, Mrs G. Webster, Mrs R. D. King, Mrs W. G. Tweedy, Miss Erica Westmacott, Dr. W. H. Unwin, and Mr D. Unwin, will leave to-day to take part in the Drama League festival in Dunedin. Mrs D., Unwin will accompany the party. Mrs Basil Unwin and Mrs W. Pinckney, who arrived for the Batchelor— Elwortby wedding, are staying with Dr. W.-H. Unwin, Church street. Miss Mary Reeves (Dunedin) is staying, with Mrs Henry Harper, 1 Grassy Hills. Mrs Charles Mathias ("Stoneleigh," Fairlie) left yesterday for a visit to England. I DANCE AT MERIVALE I To assist the stall which will be in I charge of Mrs Stephen Parr at St. I Saviour's Jubilee Fair, a dance for I young people was held in St. Mary's 1 Schoolroom, Merivale. DANCES ARRANGED At the Alexandra Hall to-morrow evening the popular weekly old-time dance will take the form of a special football night. Jackson's Band will supply the music and dancing will begin at 7.30 p.m. The three guinea waltzing competition will be continued. The other attractions will include a cash miniature and a big Monte Carlo. Visitors to the city are cordially invited. The weekly cabaret will be held at the Winter Garden on Saturday evening. The Bailey-Marston orchestra will provide the dance music. The Evans-Campbell band will provide dance music for the popular oldtime dance at the Peter Pan Hall, Cashel street, to-morrow evening. Two miniature Monte Carlos and two lucky spot dances will be included on the evening's programme. Old and new dances will be included on the programme at the dance to be held on Saturday evening at the Caledonian Hall, under the auspices of the Caledonian Select Assembly.
