APPEAL FOR ORPHANAGES
—. From Station 3YA last evening Mr J. L. Hay made an appeal for public support for the combined orphanages* radio concert next Wednesday evenin,-?. Ke appealed particularly for someone to offer to subscribe £5 on condition that nine others did the same. At the end of his talk, and before he had left the broadcasting station, Mr Hay received a telephone call from a donor who promised £5 on the terms suggested. _
