GOLF RESULTS SYBIL ACHESON CUP WON EASILY (SMCIAX. TO TEX S-S.ESB.. NELSON, July 24. The Nelson Ladies' Golf Club played * a match against Motueka for the Sybil Acheson Cup, winning all six games. Next Week a match will be played against Stoke for the Acheson Cup. The Stoke Golf Club's Cull Cup competition was won by Black, with 210. Other leading scorers wer« Croucher 211, Morris 215, Thomason 317, and Cbisnall 220. Councillor Injured Cr. S. H. Moynagh suffered an unfortunate accident last evening in which he received a broken ankle. Ha was coming out of his office in tha dark when he fell over a cycle which had been left in a passageway. Mr E. L. Morley, Nelson, has been elected to the Council of the New Zealand Astronomical Society. He is one of the foundation members of the S °Mr ty Sydney Francis Hoben arrived in Nelson this morning to give a recital in the Nelson College Assembly Hall. This evening a recital will b« attended by the pupils of both colleges. To-morrow he will go to Blenheim, where he will appear at Marlborough College Temperance Union The Nelson Women's Christian Temperance Union is" arranging jubile# functions for September. Mrs Moffatt Clow will be the chief speaker. Rugby Union Jubilee The chief items on the Nelson Rugby Union's jubilee programme which will start next week are matches against Ashburton and Wellington. The first Nelson - Wellington representative match was played in 1870. Old representative players will be present frost all parts of the Dominion.
