POISONED CHOCOLATE CASE

j RUMOUR OF ANOTHER | ATTEMPT 'i'l:i:.JH ASiiOCIAWO:: 'nilXul'.'O.!.; BLENHEIM. July 23. Rumours are in circulation that a fresh "poisoned chocolate" case has occurred at Springlands, a suburb of Blenheim. The police are extremely reticent, but it is known that Detective Sinclair, of Nelson, and local officers have been making enquiries for some dayrf. It is stated that a Springlands resident received a box of chocolates, and investigations showed that they had been tampered with, but, fortunately, as a result of the publicity given to recent cases elsewhere, none of the sweets was consumed. Sergeant Smythe, who is in charge of the local police station, refused to say anything.
