NEW BRIGHTON NOVICE CLUB At a mooting o£ tho New Brighton Novice Cycling Club, Mr W. Field presided. The reinstatement of riders was discussed and it was moved that, owing to tho attitude adopted by the New Zealand Federation towards novice cycling, all applications for reinstatement be referred to tho centre. Schoolboys' races were discussed and Mr Palmer stated that boys were under the impression that they could compete in boys' races if they were under 16 years of age. This was not no, and it was decided to conflna boys' races to boys actually attending school. Tho president stated that there was .not enough interest taken in schoolboys' races. His offer to give a cup for semiannual schoolboys' competition was accepted, the races to be held at every meeting and points awarded to the winners, tho cup to be presented at the end of tho term to tho boy with the highest points. It was decided to hold a 13 milcii novice handicap on July 27, starting from the Bower Hotel at 2.30 p.m., and also n schoolboys' race.
