HANDSOME GIFTS
REBUILDING WESTMINSTER HOSPITAL (BRITISH OFFICIAL WIRELESS.) (Received June 28, 7.30 p.m.) RUGBY, June 27. Handsome gifts are announced to the fund for rebuilding on a new site the Westminster Hospital and Medical School. - Westminster was Britain's first voluntary hospr'il and dates back to 1719. The accommodation of the present building is inadequate, and its situation on a broad estuary opposite Westminster Abbey is no longer suitable because of the noise of increasing road traffic. The buildii.g is more than 100 years old. Several gifts to the scheme exceeded £IOOO and one, from a well-known benefactor. Mr Meyerstein, amounted to £IO,OOO.
