AUTUMN FLOWERS INCREASE IN ENTRIES AT NEW BRIGHTON The third Now Brighton autumn Hewer shov.', under the auspices of tho Methodist Church, wns opened in the Masonic Hall yesterday by the Mayor of Now Brighton (Mr E. A. M. Leaver). Tho entries vcrc considerably in excess of those in previous years, and tho judge, Mr R. Nairn, expressed appreciation of the very high standard attained in both, the flower and vegetable soctiens. The prize for tho premior bloom in tho show, a splendid "William Turner,'' -.va3 awarded to Mrs C. McCrce. Mr J. W. Hull, chairman of the committee, said that in spite of difficulty experienced in Nuw Brighton in holding blooms into tho autumn, the exhibits were remarkably fine. Mr Leaver, in declaring the show open, regrotted that more visitors from outside districts were not present to see what could be produced in the sandy si>il. Tho Mayoress, Miss Irene Leaver, was presented with a bouquet of chrysanthemums by Joy Dean. During tho afternoon Mr I>. G. Sullivan, M.l'., and Mrs Sullivan visited tho show. FIRST DISPLAY AT OXFORD SMALL ENTRIES BUT GOOD BLOOMS Under the auspicou of the trustees) of the Oxford Methodist Church, a chrysanthemum Show was held in the Coronation Hall on Thursday afternoon. This is the first show of tho kind. to bo lield, and its success augurs well for a continuation. Though tho number of entries ivas not large, for an initial effort the show was a great suoccss. A special exhibit made by Mr W. Busch, who acted aa judge, was particularly attractive, and received a good deal of attention. The show was formally opened by Mr P.
