DUTIES ON ESSENTIAL IMPORTS
| POSITION ON EXPIRATION | TO BE REVIEWED (Received April 30, 10.3 p.m.) LONDON, ApriJ 30. Safeguarding duties on 8000 articles, mainly vital necessities in the manufacture of war material, are due to expire on August 19 next year. The Board of Trade has appointed a committee to consider the position then arising, whether the duties are to continue or whether there should be rebates, and whether other articles should be made dutiable.
